CHILD  CARE  INSTITUTION

A Child Care Institution (CCI), commonly known as an orphanage, as defined under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, means Children's Home, Open Shelter, Observation Home, Special Home, Place of Safety, Specialised Adoption Agency and a Fit Facility recognized under the Act for providing care and protection to children.

The organization Sishu Seva Ashram, Balijori Government registered Child Care Institution under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2006 and working for the care, protection, development and rehabilitation of the CNCP(Child in Need of Care and Protection) as per the guidelines.

1.      ACCOMMODATION FOR CHILDREN:

            The children are provided two nos of dormitories. Separate Cots/Beds with Beddings are provided to all children. Four colours bed sheets for each child available for weekly use. Beside that separate Locker/Boxes are provided to all children for keeping their own materials/goods. Fans and Cooler facilities are available in the dormitories. 24x7 hours lighting facility with inverter connection is also available.

2.      EDUCATION:

            Education is important to society because a person who is educated can develop his moral and ethical values in society. It helps us to spread knowledge in society through any mode. Education is known to everyone that a person with great knowledge is appreciated by all the persons in society. Our institution is giving much importance for the batter education of the children inmates. All children have the right to go to school and learn, regardless of who they are, where they live or how much money their family has. Quality learning requires a safe, friendly environment, qualified and motivated teachers, and instruction in languages students can understand. We have linked all the children residing in our institution for formal schooling. The children are going to nearby schools, colleges for education. For the financial year 2021-22 , two numbers child were studying in class V, two numbers of children were studying in class VI, two numbers of children in class VIII, four numbers of children in class IX and two numbers of children were studying in class X.  Also one boy is continuing ITI training at Badgaon Government ITI.

E Shiksha (Smart Class) :

            Presently our children are studying online education through Tablets provided by the OSCPS, W & CD Department, Government of Odisha. Children are taking class regularly. They are developing their all the basic knowledge in the field of English and Mathematics.

3.      HEALTH:

Sishu Seva Ashram is much conscious for the better health of all the children inmates residing in the institution. All the children of the institution are looking good and healthy. Hygienic and nutritious food is providing to the children inmates following the daily menu chart prescribed by the Government. Also we are providing special diet to the sick children. During different festivals and special occasions we are providing special food to the children.

4.      LIBRARY FACILITY:

              The institution has a library in its campus. More than 1000 different types of books are available for children/staffs in the own library. These books are issued weekly to the children and evaluate every day evening. Besides that daily newspaper, magazines are available in the institution for children. There are so many books and magazines related to children like Janhamamu, Chanda Mama, Mina Bazaar, Man Pavan, Champak etc. for the education and enhancement of knowledge of the inmates. Also the children are reading the news papers daily in the library.

5.      SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:

             The children in the institution are very much interested for sport and cultural activities. There is a playground inside the campus for the outdoor games of the children. Both the outdoor and indoor sport items are available in the institution for the children. Every year the organization is organizing annual sports for the children inmates. Many children from the institution are participating in the sport and cultural activities in their school and college level competition and programmes.

6.  STAFFING POSITION OF THE ORGANIZATION:

Presently 11 numbers of staffs are working in the organization for the proper care, protection and development of the children inmates. They have been appointed through the proper recruitment process as per the Guideline of the Government of Odisha. The staffs are working for the care, protection and overall development of the children inmates of the institution.
